Lund University is one of northern Europe's most prestigious universities and one of Scandinavia's largest institutions for education and research, frequently ranked among the world's top 100 universities. The university was founded in 1666 and is the second oldest Swedish university, but can arguably trace its roots back to 1438, when a studium generale was founded in Lund. The Department of Electrical and Information Technology cover many areas of the IT field: from antennas via telecommunication to artificial intelligence, from basic theories via algorithms to implementations on silicon and in biomedical systems. The Department conducts high-quality research in a variety of areas in electrical engineering and computer science, ranging from pure theoretical research to applied projects in close collaboration with industry. It is at the forefront of international research in most of its areas. |
